Review: Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream

I want to start off this post by saying how badly I wanted to like this product. Smashbox markets their BB Cream as "a 5-in-1 complexion miracle-worker proven to moisturize, prime, perfect, protect and control oil in a single step."  In theory, this BB cream sounded like everything I was looking for: something that evened out my skin tone but didn't look "made up". And in reality, this product did make my skin look better, but at the expense of making it feel a whole lot worse.

Mini Haul: Benefit Cosmetics & Smashbox

Hi Everyone! I hope your Monday wasn't too painful! I did a little bit of shopping this weekend & wanted to show you the goodies I picked up. I went into Macy's to purchase a few things from the Benefit's counter (always a favorite) & then over to Sephora to find the new BB Cream from Smashbox Cosmetics.

Today I'm Wearing #3

MAC Cremesheen Glass in Fashion Scoop, Smashbox Be Discovered Jet Set Eye Liner in Idol, Bare Escentuals READY Eyeshadow 2.0 in The Epiphany

*Sigh* Just when you think Spring is finally here, another storm comes around and rains on your parade (literally). This morning, with the weather as dreary & gray as it was, my recent go-to look of bronze eyes & bright pink lips just didn't quite seem appropriate. I decided to opt for a more neutral, cooler-toned eye & baby pink lips instead.

If you haven't seen the new pressed eyeshadows from bareMinerals, I highly recommend you go swatch them. I was pleasantly surprised by how buttery soft & incredibly pigmented they are.

The Epiphany is a beautiful neutral duo. The shade on the left (called A-Ha) is a stunning brushed chrome/ taupe color with a metallic sheen to it. The only thing I've noticed with this particular shadow though, is you have to be careful not to overapply it. The metallic pigments can start to look cakey if you layer too much on. The shade on the right (Foreshadow) is slightly plummy, deep brown matte color. It pairs very well with A-Ha as a crease color or even on the lash line for a little extra definition.

I hope you are enjoying the weekend! Thanks for reading!

Lots of Love,

Louise

Bright Lips for Spring: Subtle or Bold?

Hi Everyone! I took a little shopping trip to Target a few days ago and picked up a few goodies I wanted to share with you. I've really been coveting the look of bright lips seen splashed all over magazines & makeup counters lately. Since I wasn't sure whether or not bright lips would look good on myself though, I didn't want to make a huge investment & decided to pick up some affordable drugstore options.

Today I'm Wearing #2

Benefit Ultra Shines Lip Shine in Foxy Lady, NARS Eyeshadow Duo in Kalahari, NARS Larger Than Life Eyeliner in Via Appia

There's something I find so pretty about the combo of light shimmery bronze eyes & bright watermelon stained lips. I have been reaching for this combination without fail the last few days. I think this look would look flattering on almost anyone because it really seems to brighten up the face in a subtle way.

A Little Side Note..

I've decided I'm going to start a category of posts called "Today I'm Wearing" as a place to show you any makeup combinations or nail colors that I am currently using and loving. I tend to cycle through my products quite often & I'm hoping this will be a productive way for me to channel my makeup ADD into something useful :)

Today I'm Wearing #1: Essie One of a Kind Nail Polish

Essie describes their nail polish in One of a Kind as "a poppy red kiss." If that doesn't just scream girly & Springtime appropriate than I don't know what does!

Review: NARS Cairo Eyeshadow

Natural Lighting

I was so excited last week when an email from NARS Cosmetics popped up in my inbox saying they were offering free 2-day shipping. I had been eyeing NARS Cairo eyeshadow for a while, but hadn't had any time lately to swing by a department store in order to pick one up. So, with free 2-day shipping, I thought why not just order it online? *Sigh* I will never learn my lesson...

Review: Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer

Today I am writing a requested review on Bobbi Brown's Creamy Concealer. I have to say I have mixed feelings about this product. I do like it, I just don't love it.

Review: Yon-Ka Phyto 58 Rejuvenation Treatment Cream

Yon-Ka is a French skin care line, that although is very popular with celebrities such as Martha Stewart and Oprah, I do not believe is well known to the general public in the US. I was blessed to be introduced to the Yon-Ka skin care line when I was a teenager due to the fact that my mother owns a skin care practice and carried these products. I completely attribute never having major issues with acne in my adolescence to using Yon-Ka products.

Review: L'Oreal Extra Volume Collagen Mascara

Today I'm going to be reviewing L'Oreal Extra Volume Collagen Mascara. I used to purchase this product loyally a few years back & then somehow it got lost in the line-up of more exciting new mascaras I wanted to try out. I recently decided to pick up a tube at my local Walgreens and fell in love all over again. This mascara is one of the best (if not the best) drugstore mascaras I have ever used. In fact, I feel it is comparable to many high-end ones I have used such as DiorShow or Lancome Hypnose.

My Everyday Makeup

Hi Everyone! I wanted to share with you the products I have been using recently on a daily basis. For my everyday look I go for natural looking makeup, with light shimmery colors on the eyes, slightly winged liner, & peachy-pink blush.

Although I tend to rotate specific products in and out every few weeks depending on my mood, the colors  never seem to stray too drastically from the same color families.

Review: Deborah Lippmann Between the Sheets

With Spring right around the corner, I find myself bypassing my nude pinks & darker polishes in favor of brighter, more fun colors. As of late, the one I  have been reaching for time and time again is Deborah Lippmann's Between the Sheets.

Currently Loving: Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel Sheer Illuminating Fluid

Hello Everyone! I wanted to start off my very first post by saying thank you for taking the time to check out my site! I really hope I can be a resource for anyone who is either as passionate about beauty & health as I am, or maybe is just starting out and wants to learn more.

To start things off, I wanted to talk to you about a product that has quickly become a much-loved addition to my daily beauty routine: the Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel Sheer Illuminating Fluid in Sunkissed (I know it's a mouthful but bear with me).
